Currently a total of 16 guides are performing the job in English, Japanese, and Chinese as well as in korean.

The guides in Changdeokgung make great efforts to let people know about the beauty and knowledge of Changdeokgung which was designated as World Cultural Heritage.

However we have much trouble in guiding with around 5,000 persons a day especially in peak seasons such as spring blossom time and autumn foliage season.

Therefore private organizations and public institutions have cooperated in mobilizing volunteers to improve the quality of Changdeokgung tour system from various civic groups concerning about royal palaces since May 2004. Volunteers have taken charge of 6-7 time guide a day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (three days a week).
